MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC MEETING OF JULY 28, 2015
TOWN HALL, 542 LIBERTY STREET, HANSON, MA
Called to Order at 7:00 PM under M.G.L. c 131, §40 and the Hanson By-Law 3-13, §5 and Rules and Regulations by John Kemmett, Chairman, in Meeting Room A at the Town Hall.

Appointments
7:00 PM Appointment of Will Foshey of 580 State Street to the Trails Committee.
Mr. Clemons said that Mr. Foshey had been in touch with him. He’s been a resident of the Town for some years and has an interest in the outdoors and hiking trails. Mr. Clemons added that the Trails Committee is short one member and they would welcome his participation.

Public Hearings
7:10 PM Continued Notice of Intent for the construction of a single family home, septic system, landscaping and grading within the 100’ buffer zone to a Bordering Vegetated Wetland at part of 172 Indian Head Street, Map 47, Lot 3, part of Lot 14 for Donald Ellis Jr. represented by Vautrinot Consulting, LLC. (DEP #SE175-0664)
Mr. Kemmett read correspondence from John Delano, the Commission’s consultant, into the record (attached). Mr. Delano suggested that the Commission continue the hearing as he was not able to review new material and changes to the Plan having only received them this morning.

Discussions
Letter from resident concerning Poison Ivy on conservation land
Ms. Marilyn Weber who lives on Forest Trail next to Conservation land attended the meeting to speak to the problem of poison ivy in her yard. It has really taken over and she was asking the Commission if and how it could be treated as it is coming over from the abutting parcel. She herself has had several bouts of poison ivy. Mr. Schellenger said that it’s a problem and we should check with DEP on treatment options. Mr. Kirlin said he would make a site inspection and take some pictures. The subject will be taken up again at a future meeting.
